For data-intensive organizations in telecommunications, internet services, and similar sectors, business systems generate enormous volumes of unstructured data every day. Object storage has become the backbone for storing images, files, logs, and application data across these environments.
As data volumes continue to grow, however, traditional data protection approaches are running into new limits. Organizations are asking:
To address these challenges, a large enterprise worked with Info2soft to build an integrated data resilience framework for its object storage environment. The resulting architecture delivers dual-site, dual-copy protection for production data, tiered archiving for historical data, and fast recovery capabilities that support continuous digital operations.
The organization operates across a broad range of business systems and data centers supporting global operations, and has accumulated a large volume of unstructured data over time.
As digital operations expanded, object storage became a core part of the infrastructure supporting images, files, logs, and application data. But as data volumes climbed into the petabyte range, the organization’s existing protection model began to show its limits.
To meet the enterprise’s object storage protection needs, Info2soft built a data resilience framework around i2Backup, its data backup and recovery management platform. The solution was designed around four core objectives: production protection, cross-region replication, long-term archiving, and fast recovery — covering the full data lifecycle.
Using i2Backup’s object storage protection capabilities, Info2soft delivered unified protection management across the enterprise’s object storage environment.
The solution supports full backup of production object storage data along with continuous change capture for incremental protection, and extends to dynamic bucket protection. It preserves object data structure and associated metadata, meeting the demands of petabyte-scale object protection. The result: data that isn’t just stored, but reliably retained.
Given the enterprise’s multi-data-center footprint, Info2soft designed a dual-site, dual-copy architecture for cross-region protection.
The architecture uses two core protection nodes, Site A and Site B:
This cross-city redundancy model upgrades protection from single-point coverage to coordinated, multi-center protection.
Info2soft combined dynamic data protection with historical data archiving to build a tiered protection model aligned with data lifecycle needs.
Active business data: continuous protection
For data that changes frequently, the solution uses dynamic bucket protection with incremental synchronization to reduce redundant data transfer and shorten backup windows, keeping high-value business data consistently recoverable.
Historical static data: long-term archiving
For data accessed less frequently but still valuable to retain, historical data is converted to a static state and archived to a separate domain for long-term storage, supporting remote storage and on-demand recovery.
By managing hot and cold data separately, the enterprise allocates protection resources more effectively — meeting long-term retention needs while improving overall management efficiency.
Through this data protection initiative with Info2soft, the enterprise achieved a comprehensive upgrade to its object storage protection framework.
From object storage protection to cross-region replication, and from archiving to fast recovery, Info2soft’s integrated data resilience capabilities — spanning backup, replication, disaster recovery, and recovery — help enterprises build the data protection infrastructure their digital operations depend on.
