Solution: Info2soft V9 Disaster Recovery System
ZTE is a global provider of telecommunications equipment and ICT solutions. Its object storage environment contains a large volume of data requiring regular full backups and incremental protection.
As its data environment grew, ZTE needed reliable backup, fast recovery, and long-term retention. It chose Info2soft to build a tiered, cross-domain backup system while gradually replacing its existing NetBackup (NBU) deployment.
Customer Challenges
- Large-scale data protection: ZTE’s object storage environment is large and requires both regular full backups and ongoing incremental protection.
- Data integrity, availability, and recovery: Backup data must remain intact and accessible, with fast recovery when needed.
- Tight backup and recovery windows: Backup and restore jobs must be completed within defined time windows while covering multiple tiers of data.
- Cross-domain redundancy and long-term archiving: ZTE needed redundant copies across sites as well as long-term archival storage to reduce the risk of data loss.
Solution
- Tiered backup architecture: Info2soft performs a full backup of the production object storage, followed by incremental synchronization. Dynamic and static buckets are protected separately to provide the appropriate level of protection for each type of data.
- Cross-domain redundancy with two-way replication: Domain A and Domain B replicate backup data to each other, so each site maintains a copy of the other site’s backup data and provides redundancy in the event of a site failure.
- Long-term archiving: When historical data moves from dynamic to static buckets, it is archived to Domain C. This provides an additional remote copy for long-term retention and recovery.
- Efficient protection at scale: The platform is compatible with the existing object storage environment and supports high-volume data transfer and fast recovery across multiple types of target storage.

Results
- Two-way replication between domains: Full backups and incremental synchronization now run across Domain A and Domain B, with backup data replicated between the two domains.
- Long-term archival process: Historical data is transitioned from dynamic to static buckets and archived to Domain C, establishing a long-term data retention process.
- Stable backup and recovery at scale: The solution supports reliable backup, data transfer, recovery, and archiving across a large-scale object storage environment.
- Progressive replacement of NBU: ZTE is gradually transitioning away from NBU and has already archived more than 3.2 PB of historical data on the new platform.
