Info2soft Joins Roundtable Forum at WAIC 2025: “From Hong Kong to the World – Breaking Barriers in Globalization”
On July 27, during the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), the ecosystem forum “Intelligence Gathers in the East, Connecting the Globe” was grandly held. Co-organized with the Digital Ecology Construction sub-forum, the event brought together influential figures from the Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China Electronics Corporation, H3C, Info2soft, SunFun InfoTech, and other leading enterprises and institutions.
Through keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, guest speakers exchanged in-depth insights on topics such as intelligent computing research and applications, domestic AI infrastructure deployment, large models and platforms for scientific research, and data security and utilization. These sessions provided attendees—both online and offline—with a comprehensive and up-to-date view of the latest industry trends and achievements.
Forum Highlights: A Gathering of Experts
This forum featured influential experts from both academia and industry. In the keynote session, Dr. Guangting Zheng, Vice President of HKUST, shared insights on “Low-power, High-efficiency Edge AI Chips and Systems for Ubiquitous AI Applications.” Mr. Run’an Xu, Senior Vice President of H3C and President of the Cloud & Computing Storage Product Line, delivered a speech titled “Compute x Connectivity: Unlocking Inclusive Productivity in the Era of Large Models.” Prof. Yanfeng Wang, Executive Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at SJTU, spoke on “Building a Super Research Platform for the Era of Grand Science,” while Mr. Wallace Yip, President and COO of Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN), delivered a speech titled “The Speed Frontier: Driving the AI Revolution with Ultra-Fast Networks.”
Info2soft CEO Hu Junqing Participates in Roundtable: “From Hong Kong to the World”
As a representative of the data replication and disaster recovery industry, Mr. Hu Junqing, Chairman and CEO of Info2soft, was invited to participate in the roundtable “From Hong Kong to the World: Breaking Globalization Barriers.” Moderated by Mr. Wallace Yip, the session also featured discussions with Dr. Guangting Zheng (HKUST), Mr. Guang Yang (Deputy GM of China Mobile International DICT Center), Mr. Yishi Chen (President of Ant Digital Technologies’ International Business), Mr. Shanming Xuan (CTO of SenseTime Device Division), and Ms. Yvonne Kan (Innovation Director of Hong Kong Science Park).
Hong Kong as a Global Launchpad: Navigating Geopolitical Risks with Neutrality and Compliance
Addressing how Hong Kong’s neutrality helps enterprises avoid geopolitical risks, Mr. Hu remarked:
“In recent years, more customers have become focused on compliance and neutrality when expanding across borders. Hong Kong’s legal system, infrastructure, and international trustworthiness make it a natural springboard for Chinese enterprises going global.”
He added that Hong Kong’s stable policy environment, open business culture, and high-speed network infrastructure offer fertile ground for technology companies like Info2soft. Leveraging this platform, Info2soft helps customers in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, North Africa, and along the Belt and Road countries achieve secure, compliant, and resilient data replication, backup, and disaster recovery—ensuring business continuity while mitigating geopolitical risk.
With the rapid rise of AI and large models, data infrastructure needs are evolving—especially in data collection. Efficiently collecting data from complex, heterogeneous systems has become a critical prerequisite for model training and deployment.
“Data replication has always been our focus—it’s the invisible infrastructure behind the AI era,” Hu explained. “Our stable real-time data synchronization technology helps eliminate silos between business systems, enabling real-time data replication, integration, and sharing.”
Deepening Presence in Hong Kong: A Hub for Global Delivery and Services
In 2024, Info2soft officially established a wholly owned subsidiary in Hong Kong—Info2soft Limited. This move represents a key milestone in the company’s global strategy. The Hong Kong branch will act as a strategic hub for global expansion, promoting localized services and technological innovation.
“Hong Kong is not just the starting point of our internationalization, but also our strategic high ground for entering Asian and global markets,” said Hu. “By setting up our subsidiary here, we can better serve local customers and efficiently deliver overseas projects.”
Hu also emphasized Info2soft’s active involvement in the HKBN iTEA (Innovation and Technology Ecosystem Alliance), a diverse platform that brings together partners across databases, servers, and chips (including AI chips). This ecosystem is designed to accelerate global expansion through collective innovation and collaboration.
From Product Export to System Export: Becoming the Global Data Shield
On the topic of overcoming challenges in global expansion, Hu noted:
“Technology can be exported quickly, but long-term growth overseas requires legal compliance, localized services, and ecosystem adaptation.”
Info2soft’s globalization strategy revolves around three pillars:
-
Localized Compliance Support: Customizing product capabilities based on local regulations (e.g., Hong Kong’s STDB triple-backup guidelines for banks) to ensure compliant data protection solutions.
-
Global Service Network: Establishing service and delivery capabilities in Hong Kong, Singapore, and other key locations to stay close to customers.
-
Ecosystem Collaboration: Partnering with global cloud providers, system integrators, and telecom operators to deliver disaster recovery and migration solutions, forming a full-stack Chinese software ecosystem for international markets.
Global Success Cases Across Industries and Regions
Info2soft’s international journey began over a decade ago. In 2014, it partnered with Huawei to implement its first overseas disaster recovery project. In 2016, it teamed up with Drulogic Technologies to expand into India and the Middle East. By 2018, Info2soft was named “Most Promising Software Company for Investment” in the Belt and Road Software Campaign.
Its technology has been validated in real-world projects with major international clients such as telecom operator ZAIN, mining giant PAMA, automaker GAC, and financial exchange Royal Exchange.
Info2soft’s success in the Chinese market forms the foundation of its global ambitions. Continuous R&D and product upgrades have kept its offerings—backup, disaster recovery, database replication, intelligent file sharing, and cloud data management—competitive and exportable.
For example, Info2soft is gradually replacing Veritas NetBackup (NBU) at ICBC. In terms of ecosystem compatibility, it helps customers replicate virtual systems from VMware to domestic H3C CAS platforms.
“These use cases prove that our data replication solutions are stable, scalable, and compliant—ready for global deployment,” Hu concluded. “Globalizing Chinese software is more than exporting products; it’s about exporting service capability, compliance awareness, and ecosystem collaboration. With Hong Kong as our base, we aim to bring China’s strengths in data replication, disaster recovery, and AI infrastructure to the world—becoming the global shield for enterprise data in uncertain times.”
