China Educational Services for International Students (CESIS)

Overview

China Educational Services for International Students (CESIS)
Country: China
Industry: Education
Product: i2CDP

In the wave of digital transformation, data security and business continuity have become core elements that cannot be ignored across all industries. As a key institution handling massive sensitive data, CESIS is well aware of its importance and has partnered with Information2 to build an efficient and reliable disaster recovery protection system to ensure the safety of data and the continuous and stable operation of its business.

Customer Challenges

CESIS, as a key institution dealing with massive amounts of small files such as texts and photos, as well as unstructured data, stores data in its production system that is not only crucial for the normal operation of the center but also directly affects the information security of numerous international students. In light of the severe consequences that data loss may bring, CESIS decided to build a comprehensive disaster recovery protection system to ensure the dual safety of data and business.

I2 Solution

To achieve this goal, CESIS adopted the following construction plan:
  • Synchronization Rules: By setting synchronization rules, the massive heterogeneous data in the production system is synchronized to the local disaster recovery center in near real-time. At the same time, dynamic bandwidth limitation is implemented to minimize the impact on front-end business during the synchronization of massive data.
  • Dual Network Cards for Internal and External Network Separation: The disaster recovery center uses an all-in-one machine configured with dual network cards to achieve complete separation of the internal and external networks.
  • This design not only connects the local, disaster recovery, and cloud ends but also ensures normal communication among the three points, further enhancing system security and stability.
  • i2CDP Continuous Data Protection: Utilizing i2CDP technology, continuous data protection is achieved from the local disaster recovery center to the Beijing Yizhuang and Suzhou cloud ends. When the local production center encounters potential threats such as logical errors or ransomware attacks, the data on the two cloud ends can be rolled back to any point in time according to the set priority, with an extremely high data recovery granularity of up to one millionth.

Solution Effects

Significantly Enhanced Data Security: The combination of i2NAS synchronization rules and i2CDP continuous data protection technology enables real-time backup and remote disaster recovery of data, effectively resisting potential threats such as logical errors and ransomware.

Guaranteed Business Continuity: Based on data synchronization and disaster recovery protection, the business continuity of CESIS is effectively guaranteed. Even in the event of data loss or system failures, it can quickly recover and ensure uninterrupted service.

Improved Management Efficiency: Through Information2’s visual unified data management platform, CESIS can easily monitor and manage the data synchronization and disaster recovery processes, reducing operational and time costs.
