After upgrading its production systems through a series of digital transformation initiatives, WuXi AppTec needed to strengthen data security and business continuity for its mission-critical R&D platforms. However, traditional backup methods failed to meet strict RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) requirements, leaving the company exposed to risks of data loss and system downtime.

I2 Solution
- Non-intrusive Deployment: Installed synchronization plugins on production virtual machines without requiring reboots.
- Appliance-Based DR: Deployed Info2soft disaster recovery appliance at the DR site. After initial synchronization of VM directories, ongoing changes were continuously protected by CDP.
- Flexible Protection Models: Supported both one-to-one and many-to-one CDP configurations to fit different workloads.
- Granular Recovery: CDP policies allowed recovery by timestamp with configurable retention and version frequency.
- Cross-Platform Restoration: In the event of VM or host failure, data could be restored to alternative virtualization platforms.
Solution Effects
- Achieved RPO ≈ 0 (near-zero data loss).
- Realized RTO < 2 hours, enabling rapid service recovery depending on network conditions.
- Enabled whole-system state recovery, not just file-level restore.
- Unified monitoring and operations through a centralized management platform.
