To enhance the unstructured data management capabilities of the Guizhou Government Cloud, data stored in Alibaba Cloud OSS by various provincial government departments needed to be migrated to alternative object storage platforms such as Huawei OBS and MinIO. The project aimed to enable large-scale object storage migration within the government network while ensuring high performance, security, and compatibility with multiple S3-based storage architectures.

Customer Challenge

• Massive unstructured data volumes — Object storage data spanned dozens of government departments with hundreds of buckets and extremely large data scale.
• Heterogeneous object storage platforms — Migration was required across different S3-compatible object storage systems, including Alibaba OSS, Huawei OBS, and MinIO.
• Performance requirements — Large-capacity object storage demanded high-throughput, high-efficiency data transfer.
• Government network constraints — All migration activities had to be completed within a secure government network environment.

i2DTO — Object Storage Data Migration

• Migrated object storage data from Alibaba Cloud OSS to Huawei OBS, MinIO, and other S3-compatible platforms.
• Deployed five synchronization hosts to parallelize migration tasks and significantly improve transfer efficiency.
• Enabled seamless migration of unstructured data for the government cloud platform.

Solution Effects

• Successfully migrated object storage data for 30+ government departments, covering 131 object storage buckets.
• Completed migration of over 600 TB of object storage data with high reliability and data integrity.
• Supported migration across multiple S3-compatible object storage platforms within the government network.
• Achieved transfer performance of up to 900 objects per second, greatly improving migration efficiency.
• Strengthened the unstructured data migration and management capabilities of the Guizhou Government Cloud platform.
